Spring Has Sprung

So, I'm a little late with this post.. things have been kind of hectic here between some job interviews, traveling for Easter and trying to find a new home.  It's been absolute craziness, good craziness, but none the less, we've been busy, so this is going to be somewhat of a hodge-podge shmorgishborg post.

This Easter, God really did quite a number in my heart and I found all of my senses awaken to the work he has been doing in my life and in the lives around me.  We went to church with our friends Frank and Cara on Easter morning and I was so awesome to fellowship with other believers (and good friends) on such an amazing day.  They are members at a lovely PCA church in Atlanta and I absolutely loved their pastor's sermon discussing the reality and invitation of the resurrection through the teaching of Romans 6:1-13.  The main focus he was driving home was that all of us who have been baptized into Christ were baptized into his death, and because of that and the fact that our Savior was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we can now walk in newness of life (Romans 6: 3-4).

Christ's resurrection is an invitation for us to celebrate new life, hope and above all, an invitation for a real and personal, one-on-one relationship with our Father.  It is an invitation to us as believers to live for God.  To awaken our faith to God's invitation, through his Son's resurrection, for a life worth living. A life with, for and through God. To be completely and utterly consumed with Him and His love.  The mere thought of that makes my heart smile. =)

Christ Has Died,
Christ Is Risen,
Christ Will Come Again.
Amen!

A week later we were able to witness two of our friends, and fellow Young Life leaders say I do!  We also had Eddie and Laura as house guests for the weekend which always means we're in for a good time. The wedding was beautiful, I cried like a baby through almost the whole thing (as usual), and the reception was a blast!

See ya later!

So the biggest news, following the Painter nuptials obviously, is that we finally found a house! YAY! A house to rent that is. But none the less, we have a home and we are so excited! We'll be heading out of Franklin and downtown to East Nashville moving ourselves in a super cute 1920's bungalow!  I don't have a picture of the house yet, but here are a few pictures from the inside.  One of the things that really sold me was how the owner preserved the original wood molding around the door ways and windows through her renovations to keep its charm and character.
Here's a quick tour of our new home:

Breakfast "nook" right off the kitchen that's not really a nook.. it's quite large.

 Bathroom

So whats the catch you ask to rent such a beautifully renovated bungalow in this adorable area? The catch is that there is only 1 closet in the entire home. That's right folks, 1 closet... we are going from having 2 walk in closets, 2 linen closets, 1 coat closet and a pantry to ONE small coat closet. Insert slight nervousness here... my mind has already been going a mile a minute as I try to figure out how we will store everything in this 1 closet we will have (and 2 armoires). So, stay tuned...this should be pretty interesting.  Oh, and I gladly welcome any suggestions!!

Aside from that one minor issue... we really are very excited to move into this area.  East Nashville has become the urban, eclectic neighborhood of Nashville with parks, coffee shops and yummy restaurants around almost every corner, and not to mention the Titan's stadium just couple of miles down the road. We are really looking forward to this new season and I will for sure keep you updated on all our moving happenings over the next 2 weeks and the fun things we find around town!
