Weekend Plans: Moving, Family Visits and a Half Marathon

We have quite a busy weekend ahead of us.  In our efforts to get everything moved in and moved out by Sunday, my parents are coming up to help move visit!  Bobby and I are trying our darnedest to get everything done before they get here (wishful thinking) so we have time to just hang out and enjoy each other's company.  I am SO excited to see them, you have no idea.

Along with continuing to move.. tomorrow night is our team's spaghetti dinner in preparation for our first ever, half marathon we are running Saturday morning. Whoop whoop!

For those of you who don't know, Bobby and I are both Young Life leaders at our local high school. We've been walking with our group of guys and girls since they were freshmen. Each summer, high school kids get the chance to go to Young Life camp for a week and from what I've heard from both kids and leaders, it's the best week of your life. Unfortunately, not everyone can afford to go and the last thing we want is for finances to get in the way of kids experiencing such a fun and spirit-filled week! So! That's why we are running the Music City half marathon this weekend along with other Williamson County YL leaders!

We are running to help raise support for Williamson County Young Life to help insure that each and every kid signed up has a chance to go to camp.

Like I just mentioned, we have been hanging out with these kids for almost two years now. It has been awesome serving in this ministry and so incredibly encouraging to see God work in and through the relationships that we are building with our high school friends. We are both so thankful for the heart that He has given us for this group of kids. The most amazing part though, is when one of them begins to understand just how much Jesus loves them and you begin to see their lives change right before your eyes.

If you are interested, you can support our efforts by click here. ;) If you are not in the position to give, we would love your prayers!   Prayers that as leaders we would trust God's sovereignty that every kid who is meant to go to camp will be able to go.  Prayers that at camp we would get out of our way and allow the Holy Spirit to work and speak through us to our high school friends. And last but certainly not least, prayers for our high school friends that if they don't have a relationship with Christ that this week of hearing God's word and time away from so many distractions would change that and that if they do already have a relationship with Him, that it would deepen.

Camp isn't until June but I will most certainly keep you updated as we get closer to going, and let you know how fabulous it is after!  (And how the race goes!)
