a little announcement...

Hey friends! Just thought I'd pop in from my crazy-long (and unplanned) blogging hiatus to share a little announcement with you!

I have typed and retyped over and over again, trying to introduce this to you all in the most perfect way but I could never quite get the words right.  So instead, I thought a picture would suffice.  They say a picture is worth a thousand words right?

                              We're pregnant!!

Wahoo!! We are beyond excited (at first maybe slightly petrified and maybe really overwhelmed too) but now extremely excited and thankful that God has blessed us with this little peanut.  It has a been a long three months of having to keep this secret to ourselves (and lie...a lot) so you can image how thrilled we are finally be able to share our news!

We found out at the end of March, actually on Bobby's birthday to be exact (definitely one to remember now) and learned that our little babe is due December 1st!

The first week felt like it lasted an entire year.. seriously.  It was filled with a whirlwind of emotions and thoughts ranging from sheer panic because well, this wasn't planned (on our end of course), to feeling slightly overwhelmed that we will be bringing a baby into a 700 sq.ft {1 bedroom} apartment, to feelings of inadequacy at the thought of being a mom, to an overwhelming feeling of gratitude towards God for placing in our hands the life of a sweet little baby to show His unconditional love to.  It was His plan all along.

For a good week or so I literally would go from one end of the emotional spectrum to the other but He always reeled me back in with sweet reminders that He has everything under control and promises to take care of His children, just as He always does.  We are thrilled about this little addition to our family and so excited to see how God moves and works in us, preparing our life and our hearts to welcome him or her into the world.

Sharing the news with our families this past weekend brought with it a new kind of excitement and joy for this pregnancy and such peace about it too.  It is impossible to put into words what it did in my heart to see the reaction on all of their faces. It was priceless.

I'll be back again with some pictures/video we took when we spilled the beans to our families, friends  and Young Life kids. :) Until then, thanks for sharing in our excitement over our cool little baby! :)
